Learning Equal Matrix Grammers and Multitape Automata with Structural Information

چکیده
Equal matrix grammars are one of paralel rewriting systems. This type of parallel rewriting systems has been investigated in several areas such as L-systems and the syntactic pattern recognition. In this paper, we introduce two types of structural information and show that if these are available and there is a method of learning regular sets in polynomial time, then for any positive integer $k$ the class of equal matrix grammars of order $k$ is learnable in polynomial time. We also show that for any equal matrix language there exists an equal matrix grammar learnable efficiently only from positive structural examples. These results are applied to the problem of learning multitape automata and the same results are obtained.

The “equal last” predicate for words on infinite alphabets and classes of multitape automata
Along with the usual predicates “prefix” and “equal length”, the predicate “equal last letter” leads to a first order theory of the free infinitely generated monoid whose definable relations are related to the algebra of relations recognized by different types of multitape automata which are natural extensions of the famous Rabin-Scott multitape automata and the so-called synchronous automata. ...
متن کاملRevisiting the Equivalence Problem for Finite Multitape Automata
The decidability of determining equivalence of deterministic multitape automata (or transducers) was a longstanding open problem until it was resolved by Harju and Karhumäki in the early 1990s. Their proof of decidability yields a co-NP upper bound, but apparently not much more is known about the complexity of the problem. In this paper we give an alternative proof of decidability, which follow...
متن کاملImproving Agent Performance for Multi-Resource Negotiation Using Learning Automata and Case-Based Reasoning
In electronic commerce markets, agents often should acquire multiple resources to fulfil a high-level task. In order to attain such resources they need to compete with each other. In multi-agent environments, in which competition is involved, negotiation would be an interaction between agents in order to reach an agreement on resource allocation and to be coordinated with each other. In recent ...
متن کاملThe equivalence problem of multidimensional multitape automata
This article considers the equivalence problem of multitape automata with multidimensional tapes, where the motion of the heads is monotone in all directions (no backward motion). It is shown that this problem can be reduced to the equivalence problem of ordinary multitape automata. Some applications of the result are adduced. © 2008 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
متن کاملDerived-Term Automata of Multitape Rational Expressions
We consider (weighted) rational expressions to denote series over Cartesian products of monoids. We define an operator | to build multitape expressions such as (a | x+ b | y)∗. We introduce expansions, which generalize the concept of derivative of a rational expression, but relieved from the need of a free monoid. We propose an algorithm based on expansions to build multitape automata from mult...
